Kopiec Bonawentura, is his debut monograph (Kerber Verlag, Berlin). It has been finalist for the 2017 Lange-Taylor Prize from Center for Documentary Studies, Duke University.
His different series have received numerous awards including the Swiss Photo Award, Fine Art category, in 2016, and belong to different public and private collections. Lucas Olivet’s photographs capture the living and intimate details of the everyday while inserting a touch of the supernatural. They evoke a world that becomes, in one way or another, identifiable and unstable at the same time. Each series operates a narrative mode through their arrangement and sequence giving the space for interpretation to the viewer. It addresses issues of memory, loss and longing by way of his own life as well as through a wider historical and cultural frame.
